Leeds assumed to be
wearing their normal kit but photographic proof not found. Neal
was injured after 20 minutes so Furness dropped back to
left-half and Cochrane moved inside and the injured man took up
residence on the wing until half-time - though unable to run.
Reports vary on the exact extent of his participation in the
second-half but the consensus is he tried to resume just after
Leeds had taken the lead but had left the field permanently
before the second goal.

The time that Armes
retired from the game is approximate as newspaper reports varied
from "early in the second-half" to "with half an hour left to
play". The Halifax Chronicle's on the whistle report mentions
his leaving the field before descripton of the Leeds goal, which
suggests it was with the score still at 0-2 given the
chronological nature of such accounts. Meanwhile the Daily
Herald remarked that Leeds "with ten men made a splendid rally".

Birmingham earlier in this season. The attendance was commonly
reported in newspapers as 23,856. The Leicester Mail stated that
